Research advances in biological effects of static magnetic field combined with drugs on tumor cells

Abstract: Static magnetic fields (SMFs) have an inhibitory effect on tumors, and many advances have been made in combination with drugs to improve the efficacy of tumors. Herein after a detailed review of the effects of static magnetic fields combined with commonly used drugs such as pingyangmycin, cisplatin, doxorubicin, 5-fluorouracil, paclitaxel, vitamin D, capsaicin, etc on tumor cells, it was found that static magnetic fields of specific intensity combined with specific drugs could significantly reduce the concentration and side effects of the drug, but it had an antagonistic effect or no obvious effect on some tumors. Therefore, the biological effects of SMF-drug combination depend on drug type, magnetic field intensity, and cell type. The research advances were reviewed on effects of magnetic field combined with different drugs, in order to provide a reference for clinically static magnetic field and drug combination.
